Minerals are natural deposits that can be used or crafted into various types of resources. S Also spawns as a surface vein in the top half of the top layer of stone. Ores are natural metal deposits that can be melted in a vessel or crucible into a ceramic mold to produce unshaped metal. Ores and Minerals generate in two different shapes: veins and clusters. One poor ore produces 15 metal units, one normal ore produces 25 metal units, and one rich ore produces 35 metal units. When the world generates an ore vein, it has a 20% chance to be rich, a 30% chance to be poor, and a 50% chance to be normal. ![]() Ore veins are completely made up of a single type of ore: poor, normal or rich. One small ore/nugget produces 10 metal units. If using the prospector's pick on the surface in an area where small ore pieces are found, and only negative readings are given, it means that the vein is deeper underground.Ĭopper, gold, and platinum native nuggets can also be found using a Gold Pan.ĭepending on the type of ore, it's smaller counterpart is either called a nugget for native metals, or a small ore for the rest. ![]() Note: The maximum distance from the surface to a vein required for a small ore piece to generate is larger than the scanning range of the Prospector's Pick. This means that it is possible to find small ore pieces in areas where the top layer of stone is not able to spawn the ore. However, in areas where the top layer is thin enough, the vein may be located in the upper section of the middle stone layer. In the majority of cases, it is a sample of a vein in the top layer of stone. These are samples of what ore veins are located within 35 blocks underneath the soil, so they're somewhat important. Small ores can be found scattered around on the surface of the ground. ![]()

Typically you would have a board per project, lists for various workflow stages (e.g. Trello uses three elements – boards, lists and cards – to manage your work. Zoom integrates with Slack, so you can conference call inside a channel or private message. #PRODUCTEEV CUSTOMER SUPPORT FREE#The free plan does limit you to 40 minutes group meetings of 3 or more, after which it will boot you off and you’ll need to restart the meeting. Zoom is a great alternative if you don’t have Office 365 – their free plan allows you to host up to 100 participants and hold unlimited 1-2-1 meetings, including web conferencing. While I haven’t used it personally, Microsoft Teams promotes calling and web conferencing from within the app and it has essentially replaced Skype for Business. ![]() The two most popular solutions for this are Zoom and Skype. While I love Slack for team communication, it requires integration with a third party app to do voice or video calls. Integration with other Microsoft apps (such as SharePoint, Word and Excel) makes it an attractive choice for companies that deal with lots of documents and are invested in the Microsoft suite. From 2016 to 2018 the market share of Teams jumped from 3% to 21%, making it now more popular than Slack. In my original post, I spoke about Yammer – Microsoft’s ‘enterprise social network.’ In the last couple of years I’ve seen the usage of Yammer decline even more than before, but Microsoft do have a new tool on the block that is competing directly with Slack (and has essentially replaced ‘Skype for Business.’ The new product is called ‘ Microsoft Teams‘ and they offer a free plan as well as paid versions that come included with a standard Office 365 for Business license. Check out my review of Slack which I updated yesterday based on my experience having used it extensively over the past year. It’s a great way to move away from constantly emailing back and forth with your team, and inevitably forgetting to CC someone in who then gets left out of the loop and the ability to separate different topics into channels is super useful. If Microsoft integration isn’t important to you, I would rate it as one of the best communication tools for teams. It also has a very popular mobile app, which can make a big difference to how much your employees actually use it. Slack is great for teams that are spread out, work flexible hours, or want to promote lots of discussion and communication. Communication Tools Slack – my #1 pick for TEAM communication In hindsight, I’m going to split this ‘Update’ into 2 sections – Communication & Project Management. ![]() Producteev – Slack is a communication tool, whereas Producteev is a task/project management tool. In my original post, I compared 5 of the most popular tools out there, but realistically they don’t all try to do the same thing. Cost is another big factor, as most of us just aren’t ready to fork out too much money for something that doesn’t provide a tangible value. #PRODUCTEEV CUSTOMER SUPPORT HOW TO#Most small to medium businesses get the most benefit out of something in between – it needs to be comprehensive enough to fit your requirements, but not so complex that your team can’t figure out how to use it. #PRODUCTEEV CUSTOMER SUPPORT SOFTWARE#On the flip-side, I’ve also seen even more examples of it done wrong – and the negative impact it can have on both team and business! There are so many tools out there that are designed to help boost productivity, from super basic “to-do” list software to integrated, customised software developed specifically for your business. In the past ten years, I have been exposed to some fantastic examples of team collaboration and project management. #PRODUCTEEV CUSTOMER SUPPORT UPDATE#So this is the 2019 update of this original post for your reading pleasure! What is a Productivity Tool? I was re-reading it earlier this week and decided it was time for an update, because there are some new kids on the block and some changes that should probably be mentioned. A couple of years ago I wrote a post about productivity apps (project management, collaboration etc.) that I have used as I was getting asked about them a lot by our clients. ![]() ![]() ![]() #The ringer podcasts plus#He struck out more than a batter per inning but could not overcome all the bases on balls, plus 11 hit batsmen and eight wild pitches. He walked an unsustainable amount of hitters - 7.9 per nine innings in 2018, 6.5 in 2019 - and surrendered a 6.01 ERA in 76⅓ innings those two seasons. The majors were not kind to Holmes at first. He worked his way through the minors after that, and following an impressive stretch in Triple-A in 2017 and ‘18, the Pirates brought him up at the end of that stretch. He had a long, winding minor-league career that included Tommy John surgery in 2014 that wiped out his age-21 season. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him in the ninth round in 2011 and paid him a $1.2 million signing bonus, a record for that round, to forgo a scholarship at Auburn and join the Pittsburgh farm system. Holmes was always supposed to be a good big-league pitcher. Bake in a few other improvements and a lot of help from his defense, and Holmes’s career has transformed overnight. The Yankees and Holmes realized he could throw one devastating pitch, and he started throwing it a lot. And whether he supplants Britton atop the grounder leaderboard or not, he has already become a model of athletes and their teams collaborating to get the most out of each other. (Even if he did have a disastrous outing against the Cincinnati Reds earlier this week.)īut with enough grounders over the next two-and-a-half months, Holmes could become an all-time trivia answer. Put those traits together with what appears to be a historic ability to get hitters to drill the ball into the ground, and you get a sparkling first half that has seen Holmes post a 1.37 ERA (seventh-best among qualified relievers), take over the closer’s role in New York and earn his first All-Star nod. He has swing-and-miss stuff and barely walks anyone. In his 39 appearances covering 39⅓ innings, his strikeouts-per-nine-innings rate is 10 percent higher than league average, per FanGraphs. There is more to Holmes’s game than inducing grounders. Through games of July 12, Holmes’s ground-ball rate was 83 percent, the highest in at least 20 years. But if Holmes keeps producing grounders at this rate, he’ll overtake Britton’s most worm-burningest seasons. ![]() Britton’s 2015 and ‘19 seasons are also second and third on the full-season leaderboard, respectively. The post-2002 record for highest ground-ball rate in a single season 1 belongs to Zack Britton, at 80 percent in 2016. Some pitchers might generate rollers on 65 or 70 percent of the balls hitters put into play against them. Every year since 2002, as far back as FanGraphs has data, between 42.7 and 45.3 percent of batted balls have been on the ground. Ground balls represent a slim plurality of balls put in play in Major League Baseball. For All-Star relief pitcher Clay Holmes, the weapon of choice is a devastating sinker - and it has led to a record-chasing rate of balls pounded into the dirt, menacing whatever creatures have the misfortune of hiding below major-league infields. The participant guide suggested that runners be parked by 6 am, an hour before the race, but that still wasn’t enough time given the congestion. In addition to the race, there was a Detroit Lions football game happening. I bet those left in the cars sat there for an extraordinary amount of time, only to repeat it after the race was over. It was so crowded and traffic was backed up on the freeway so far that many runners jumped out of their cars and walked up the freeway ramp into downtown Detroit to make it to the starting line on time. Because I had car trouble, a relative dropped me off about a mile away from the starting line. The only improvement needed to make this race better is primarily due to parking availability and traffic congestion.
